Woot Woot!!!! Finally on a plane that is headed to LA!!!! http://amplify.com/u/7z3n

Vacation Day 1: You've got to be kidding me.....

Yes, today is the first day of my vacation.  I am on my way to LA for a family reunion and to spend a couple days in San Diego.  But this first day has had quite a bit of excitement.  And it all started at 6am this morning.  Yes... 6am.  Well first of all I woke up today at about 3:45a to get ready to leave as my initial flight was set to leave at 6aam.  Well, when I get to the airport I realize that my ticket is in my maiden name and the airline will not change it without proof.  So, they change my flight to 12p and I head home to pick up my birth certificate and then to Clayton to get a copy of my marriage license.  Fun times.  I get back to the airport and am all set.  Except that the plane is late and my layover in Minneapolis is only one hour.  Well at first I think I am still good until we get to the Minneapolis and can't land because things are backed up.  We land 30mins late... mind you we left 30min late already.  There goes my one hour layover.  Well we land and arrive at gate C15.  My departure flight is at gate F21.  "You've got to be kidding me..."  Well I run and run and this airport is HUGE.  I ran through a mall.  Then heard my name over the intercom but didn't hear what all was said with my name.  So, I stop at the information desk (mistake)  to see why.  Well, the desk worker had absolutely no clue so I continued my trek to F12.  I get there and they are gone.  I am directed to an agent (luckily right next door) and she lets me know that they have me set to leave at 7:15p (it's 2:40p).  So, here I am, in the Minneapolis airport eating steak at TGI Friday's with some hours to spend before I am able to continue to my final destination.  All I gotta say is that is vacation better ROCK!!

Palin sparks Twitter fight on mosque

Maggie Haberman Maggie Haberman

Sun Jul 18, 9:00 pm ET

Sarah Palin, who waded into a New York political fight by endorsing Ann Marie Buerkle in NY-25, is drifting into a decidedly higher-charged battle: The fray over a planned mosque near Ground Zero.

"Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts. Pls reject it in interest of healing," she tweeted Sunday.

The building’s planners, the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative, have said it’s modeled on religious and community centers such as the YMCA, and that the 13-story, $100 million building would also include an arts center, gym and a swimming pool, as well as a mosque. It would be two blocks away from Ground Zero.

The project, which has become an increasingly partisan issue in New York, received a renewed burst of national attention when CBS and NBC rejected an ad from the National Republican Trust PAC that crosscut footage of the 9/11 attacks with the sounds of Muslim prayer.

"On Sept. 11, they declared war against us," a narrator says. "And to celebrate that murder of 3,000 Americans, they want to build a monstrous 13-story mosque at ground zero."

While a recent poll showed a majority of New Yorkers oppose the plan to build the mosque built near Ground Zero, an aide in Mayor Michael Bloomberg's City Hall hit back at Palin, first tweeting “@SarahPalinUSA mind your business."

The aide, policy hand Andrea Batista Schlesinger, followed that up with:

"@SarahPalinUSA whose hearts? Racist hearts?"

Schlesinger deleted both tweets shortly after posting them.

"Andrea was only speaking for herself, and she has the right to her own opinions," said Bloomberg spokesman Stu Loeser.

Schlesinger posted threee new tweets Sunday evening, explaining why she wrote, and took down, her Palin response:

Bloomberg has defended the plan for the mosque, arguing that blocking it would impinge on religious freedom, and he's denounced calls to look into the group's funding – led by Republican gubernatorial hopeful Rick Lazio in a bid to engage his rival, Democrat Andrew Cuomo — as "un-American."

"I felt pain of 9/11, the trauma. I got through it by believing in my city. Not through fear and hate."

"Unlike @SarahPalinUSA, I was born here grew up here. Was showing off to a visitor today - look at how beautiful and diverse my city is."

"Deleted post bc I regretted curt response. But fact is, I believe this city belongs to everyone - and no one more than another"

4 more days to L.A.... woot woot!!!!!

ciao
Mah ha haaaa!!!!! first moble post.... <XOXOX ^_^*>

guess i won't be eating there anymore.....

just got home from trying to eat at Bob Evans.... trying???  yes, trying.  Today I made the effort of actually waking up to go to church with my mom.  Since we were running a bit late we didn't eat any breakfast.  But after church decided to sit down, chew some fat, and eat some breakfast.  Bob Evans it is.  We were seated right when we got there (which was nice), placed our order, received our drinks, then began talking.  Now mind you, when we sat down, no other tables had patrons near us.  After a while they began to fill up.  Our waitress stopped by to let us know the kitchen was backed up but our food should be ready... next thing we knew the table across from us started eating.  WTF?!  My mom said "let's go" and we walked up to the counter.  All we wanted to do was payy for my mom's orange juice but no one seemed to be able to find our receipt.  Interesting.... Then they send the waitress over and she tells us that they are just plating our food.... Uh no!  Whatever... Anyway, so they said we didn't need to pay for the drink and that hopefully we'll come back.... uhhhhh.... I think not (at least for a while anyway).  :D

All right.... let's try this again...

OK my pretties.... I've decided that I should try blogging yet again.... I can't promise that I will be good at this as I may not be... but here goes....

As you can tell already, or not, it's pretty late and I have yet been able to sleep.  I do have a little bit of exciting news though.  My brother is an artist and had a table at Natsucon, here in St. Louis.  Needing some extra cash, for an upcoming trip to Los Angeles, I made a couple "kitty" beanies and was able to sell out at his table.  It was pretty awesome watching each one sell.  I think that I may try some other animal hats.  Maybe this could be a "job" that I can do during the school year for extra cash.... we'll see.

Anyway... just a side note... if you have not been to a Con, I highly recommend going (at least once).  I really like going with my brother.  I really like looking at the costumes that the cosplayers come up with.  They can get pretty extensive.... And there is usually one in your major city so check 'em out.  You just might enjoy yourself.
